At one time July 26 was the feast day of Saint Anne alone while the current liturgical calendar calls for the Memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne on this date.
More on the parents of Mary and their feast day can be found on the Catholic Culture website here.
There is a little-known Shrine to St. Anne in the Castle Shannon suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
First constructed in 1930, it is built of stones from all fifty states and one each from the sites of the Sainte-Anne-De-Beaupre in Quebec, Canada and the National Shrine of Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.
And there is more to the story.
Its unique history should be told and the shrine more widely known than it is. To that end, four years ago, I made this three minute video. Enjoy.

When I was a teenager I lived in a suburb of Pittsburgh named Plum Borough. The police cars were purple.
A true Sir Author Conan Doyle story.
Not far from his birthplace and home at that time there was an archeology dig. One day Dolye took a human skull and a chimpanzee’s jaw and boiled them in tea to make them appear aged. That night he buried it in a few inches of dirt in the dig
When the archeologists found it they thought they had found the missing link. They took the skull on a tour. Imagine their surprise when they found out it was a fake.
