Memory Babe!
No doubt, readers have noticed I’ve often written about Jack Kerouac. If you share an interest in Kerouac and “the Beats” then this biography should be in your hands, and on your bookshelf.
It’s chock full of obscure, forgotten, or undiscovered details about Kerouac. I have more than 60 books by, about, or including Kerouac, and this is by far the best resource I own about the man.
Indeed, this biography should be the keystone of every Kerouac bookshelf!
It’s the Centennial Edition of Gerald Nicosia’s MEMORY BABE: A CRITICAL BIOGRAPHY OF JACK KEROUAC. Considered the definitive biography of the “Father of the Beats” the 850-page tome is available from the author for $45 plus $7 shipping.
It kind of feels good to say, “not available on Amazon!”
To order, contact him at gnicosia@eathlink.net for payment methods or send a check for $52 directly to Gerald Nicosia, 1709 Beauchamp Loop, Knoxville TN 37938. Be sure to give your address and to tell him if you want the book inscribed.
And here is the author picking up boxes of Memory Babe in a pickup truck formerly owned by Lawrence Ferlinghetti! Cheers!

If you're not sure a Kerouwac shelf is worthy of your library, this book is available to borrow from the Carnegie Library Main Branch (Oakland) and, thanks to the very non-beat industrial tycoon, Mr. Dale Carnegie, its free to borrow. I was going to myself but, when I saw the thickness of the tome, I lost my nerve. Perhaps our Kerouwac-groupie author can recommend a less intimidating read, one geared toward the highschool senior or freshman college student level and not the Masters-Doctorate level of this surely thorough bio?
